some tips i'll give you, for me and maybe for everybody, it could be some helpful:

• DON'T overthinking, just do it because you love it making games right?- (it's for you or your best friend who loves it making games together)
• It doesn't matter if your first game sucks, that's okkk.. you can make games better someday with practice, time and dedication-
• Learning programming first (obligatory), it doesn't matter what language u use, but python or Javascript it helps a lot-
• Learning a game engine then (could be unity, godot, unreal or a small game engine like GB studio, scratch, construct 3 or whatever, you need to investigate what game engine it's helpful for you)
• to get inspiration, you need playing games you love it, playing games from itch.io website or something you have from your head!

bc i love (forever) watch anime/manga and playing some my videogames favourites-

its like my influences as artist, i think should improve a bit more (perspective or similar like anatomy, character design or something like)

i really love listening breakcore and rave things, sometimes i listen lofi or Videogames soundtracks to inspire me, like klonoa, kirby, dk country and etc, chiptune is fun too for me!

I play with my joystick generic ps2 and keyboard/mouse

sometimes i play with my retroarch (with ROMs and ISOs incluide), some steam games in my library and minecraft too

i know it's a very cool trick to make music, you are right, all of musicians (include me) used samples from his life, they can use samples and chop it and modify them, it's very cool but it's depends, if it's a song very well-known like, so the thing is different, take care with that

damn, i liked it nightcore before to be musician and know about these cool things, i don't knew if they are making music in reality or are using samples of other artists, i mean, it's so awful to steal samples, change of pitch so much and adding some effects and trying to say if your music it's original.. it's happened with vaporwave, for example: you are using a old sample from 70s or 80s like, you are changing to pitch down and adding some effects as reverb, dealy and more, and done! you are a awful musican, all music has a one main rule, and it's trying to make something original, don't steal samples and adding some effects like-
